The Oris TX 252 is an all-in-one portable karaoke speaker: amplifier, speakers, DSP processing, rechargeable battery and two UHF wireless microphones in a single wooden cabinet you can carry from the living room to the backyard.

Inside is a six-driver arrangement — two 10-inch woofers for the low end, four 4-inch midrange drivers to carry the voice, and two tweeters for detail. That split is what keeps lyrics intelligible when the music is loud, which is the part cheaper all-in-one karaoke speakers usually get wrong.

• This is a portable all-in-one, not a replacement for a full multi-speaker karaoke room. For a dedicated karaoke room, compare it with our complete karaoke systems.
• At about 22 kg (48 lb) it is movable, but it is a two-hand lift onto a table or into a car — plan for that rather than treating it like a Bluetooth speaker.
• Battery runtime depends on how loud you play. Sustained high volume drains it considerably faster than background music.
